Applications are invited for the 2009 ALLIS Project Development Award.
The award will consist of:
- £500 towards the funding of a project or piece of research
- £100 worth of book tokens for the winner
The theme of this year's award is: Raising your profile: marketing your library and information service
ALLIS member organisations are varied in size but we all have one factor in common - the need to raise our profile both within our organisation and with our customers and potential customers.
We welcome applications concerning any project or initiative, small or large, you would like to develop or carry out that is within the scope of our theme. This can be within one sector or across several sectors. Projects might include:
- Innovative ways to market your library and information service whether it is to the wider community or to a specific group
- Staff training packages you want to develop to build confidence and expertise in this area
- A research project exploring an aspect of the theme
The winner will be required to give a short presentation about the project to the ALLIS AGM 2010 and will automatically be forwarded to any appropriate National Awards.
How to apply:
- Applicants are asked to complete the attached proforma
- A supporting letter from your line manager will also be required
The project or initiative will be evaluated against the following criteria:
- The strength of the project itself
- The costing of the project showing how the funding will be used
- The benefits identified for individual, groups or teams
- The potential for the output/results to be used elsewhere within the ALLIS group
There is a clear requirement to demonstrate the transferability of the award across the ALLIS membership, and how the outcomes will be made freely available to all ALLIS institutions.
If you are interested but uncertain about applying, why not talk it over with your ALLIS representative. You have nothing to lose by applying.
Applications should be sent to:
